Funny feeling of Wilwood master cylinder

Hi,

As mentioned in the title, I've an issue with the Wilwood master cylinder, or rather with one of two that I have. I use the .625 for the front and .750 for the rear. And when I squeeze the rear cylinder, apart from being much more stiff than the front one, the return of the piston is veeeery slow while the front one moves rather smoothly. Is this normal for the bigger cylinder ? What should be the feeling of a good one ?

FYI the test is performed on dry cylinders so I'm squeezing air only.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers,
Mike

Don't think you can tell with dry cylinders - and the brake fluid lubricates the seals. It might be hard on the seals to pump them too much when they're dry. Try putting some fluid in the cylinders and see if it's easier...

Ditto Zetec...

Try not to pump the master cylinders too much when dry as this can damage the seals. You won't get a representative feeling of the pedal without the system being charged with fluid.

Hope that helps,

Chris.

Thx guys,

I decided to leave it as is until I install the whole system and bleed it. Unfortunately it will be some time until then (next spring maybe )

Cheers,
Mike

The seals are designed to work wet, hopefully you've not damaged them.

Instructions? What Instructions?
