MK Indy suspension design

Hi Guys,

Going to be stripping down the rear end of my MK Indy over the next couple of weeks while fitting a lsd, lightweight brakes and 13” wheels.

Would welcome some comments on the suspension design, both front and rear of the Indy and any improvements anyone could make to the geometry or think is wrong, Don’t mind making up new bones if that’s what it needs I want to try and develop the car.

I want to try and make the car more competitive against the Westfields in the sprints and hillclimbs.

I think the rear setup is sound.
The front geometry has issues mainly with self centering although not everyone seems to suffer this.

I would get hold of a copy of Alan Staniforths Race and Rally car source book. I was looking over it this morning and it has good practical advice on desiging and modifying suspension setups.

I would have though that properly tuning out bump steer on the front end would be a good start as described in the book. As for the rear end and other adjustment I'm not too familiar with the Indy.

Some things will be difficult to adjust based upon the fixed location of wishbone attachments etc but as you say re-making bones may be feasible.
