COIL SPRING COMPRESSORS
I need to change the springs on my Nitrons. Any ideas on a locost coil spring compressor?

One way I used to do it when changing macpherson struts was to get some steel bar, drill a hole in each end, pass through the spring, insert long set
pins and nuts through holes in end of bars and tighten. This compresses the spring. THEN, you get some thick wire ( stick welding rod will do) and
wrap round the compressed coils. You may need to do this a few times for two or three spins of the spring coil. you then remove the bar and you now
have a trussed up compressed spring. Insert said spring onto your strut/shocker. secure, then cut the wires. PRESTO !...now, for my next trick.....
Well it works for me.......

Are you sure you need a spring compresser?
I have Nitrons (car not finished) and have played with them a little I just unscrewed the adjuster to the end and the spring was loose enough to
remove.

No probs with the rear shocks but the front are too tight. Reg coil spring compressors don't fit. Looks like I'll have to get the
Bullworker out of it's box!!
