What track rod ends?

I have a mk2 escort steering rack and cortina uprights. I ordered a new set of track rod ends for the rack, I ordered standard mk2 escort ones. They do not fit into the tina uprights.

The cortina uprights do not have a tapered hole, but the escort track rod ends have a tapered location shaft of a bigger diameter. Any help much appreciated

Std mk2 track rod ends are the ones to use and the tapers are the same.

You know they go in from the bottom of the steering arm on the upright, right?

I've always concluded that the cortina Mk?/ Taunus Mk3 ones are the same as the escort MK2 ones.

I'm planning to use the cortina ones as the fit.

Cortina uprights DO have tapered Rod end holes, sounds to me that you may be trying to put them in from the top instead of the bottom. The Tina Mk5 and Escort Mk2 rod ends are exactly the same

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation
