One simple test is to drive at progressively higher speeds and apply the brakes hard. If the rears lock up before the fronts then there is too much rear bias. Do it slowly first as the car can spin if there is too much rear brake force.

the values are worked out by the SVA man on a spreadsheet.

paramaters are axle weights and ride high comes into play.

the car is tested by the examiner who measures brake forces on the pedal and wheels from his machine.

though I am sure it would be possible to do at home it could be difficult to get spot on.

most examiners will be happy to test advise re-setting and try again when succesfully completed they will probably want the bias bar 'locking of '

could be wrong though.

Brake Balance Adjustment In The Garage

As a starting point I use the following method........

Jack up the car with the wheels on.

Get someone to press the brake pedal so you can just not turn the front wheels. Without changing the brake pressure you should just be able to turn the rear wheels.

Then you need to get on the road and fine tune. The problem is you will require different bias for different grip conditions.
