4x4 Diff oil seals

Gotta bit of a problem.....

Took the output shafts out of my sierra 4x4 diff to replace the oil seals, so pulled the seals out and through them away. Went into fords to day to get some new ones and up comes the diff on the parts computer, problem is the oil seals arnt on it. Anybody got any ideas?

People on teh XR owners club forum would probably give you the part numbers off the top of their heads. Then hit ford with those.

ordered a wishbone bush for a jap car last week guy i was talkin 2 on phone wasnt in wen i went to collect other guy told me it had to be a complete wishbone turned out he was looking at the diagrams for anti roll bar links

and at a ford dealer by brother asked for a spigot shaft oil seal for a automatic capri the guy looked it up and came back with a set of big end bearings

As posted by my fellow xroc bulletin board member dojj:

go find a gearbox place that does final drives as well
the seals are faily common as they used them on all the rear diffs
i think they are the same accross the whole range of granada and sierras so oyu should be ok

Then Ramrod posted:

went 2 motorcraft shop.the pics on their computer dosnt show any inner oil seal.the thread from the shaft goes in and theres a circular clip at the end.ill try ford on monday but i think they got same computers.may have 2 try and find part number.

And finally ttandrew replied:

Fords a pretty usless for parts, when I was rebuilding my TT and was replacing pretty much everything all I got of them was either "that part doesnt/never exists" or "we dont make it anymore".

It gets pretty annoying after a while.

I do recall having trouble with a few seals i.e. diff and intermediate shaft oil seals that werent on there computer.
