Mounting brake line lock...
My track/sprint car isn't going to be fitted with a handbrake. Instead, I'm using a line lock to lock the rear brakes to stop the car
from moving when towing etc. The line lock arrived yesterday. There doesn't seem to be an obvious way to mount the thing.
Does anyone have an idea of how I can mount it to a all-tube chassis? It needn't be in the 'cabin'/interior and I was originally
thinking of putting it in the rear of the car; above the diff, just before the t-piece in the brake line.
Thoughts very welcome!!

Two "U" clamps around it or maybe "L" shaped brackets with holes in too suit the pipe size with a nut holding the brakets
tight, a little like you would mount a flexible brake line too chassis, make any sense ?

Im probably being thick but dont u have to apply the brake before putting the lock on?? If this is the case wouldnt it be easier to mount it where u
can easily reach it?
U brackets are probably easiest to mount...

Hi tim danozeman is correct you will need to apply the footbrake to work the brakes then pull the line lock on and that will hold the brakes on at the
disk not allowing any fluid return. Obvious place for fittment is top of tunnel under dash.

To be honest, I was counting on a friend turning it (I realise that you need to apply pressure first.) What I wasn't keen on was having
something that looks like a door handle in the cockpit. However, under the dash seems like a perfect solution. Cheers Matt!
Will take it to Exeter and search for U-clamps there. Exeter is likely to be expensive for me this year!!!!!

And what's wrong with my suggestion ?
The wheels of industry depend on cable ties (or they do on my sites)

It's no good in the back of the car. It needs to be somewhere within easy reach from the drivers seat. Also, put the line lock on the front
brakes instead of the rears and you have the perfect accessory to enable you to do burnouts, to get the rear tyres nice n warm, just before doing that
sub 12 second quarter mile run

Hi Tim
I wouldn't bother - as long as you strap the car down properly there's no need for a handbrake / linelock. After all, there's no
handbrake on a single seater and there's loads of those towed around the place without falling off!
If you are going to fit it, do what Hellfire is and fit it in the front circuit for tyre warming purposes.

Trouble with line locks is sooner or later you will go out on the track with it in the wrong position -----keep it simple.
