New shocks!
Some of you may remember the ongoing saga of my rear shock absorbers - I'd worked out that the ones originally fitted were too long at 14"
fully-open, leaving me with no travel and thumping the stops on almost every bad bump. I couldn't make up my mind whether to move the brackets
or buy the correct length shocks (12" fully open).
In the end I chose to buy new shocks and lighter springs (150lb) - my, what a difference!  Fitted them last night & today (would have been
quicker if not for a visit to A&E - see elsewhere) and just HAD to try them out this evening. So much nicer to drive, that I even went along my
least favourite road to see what happened - it was just as smooth as my tin-top. Very pleased.

had to be easier than moving the mouting brackets  good to hear it's sorted the car out

Yep - the car feels a whole lot better now, especially after I got the front shocks adjusted about right.
Went out for a really good blast this afternoon - I feel a lot more confident about slinging the car into corners since making the changes -
everything feels a lot more 'planted' on the road.
The down-side is that it's resulted in more work! Because of the extra suspension movement, rear axle attachments now hit the underside of the
boot box slightly. I've now got to make a hump in the box - not a major issue as I needed an inspection hatch for adjusting the handbrake (I
would have had to remove the whole boot otherwise).
