Simple Castor Adjustment
I'm at the point where I'm positioning my front suspension brackets. It's just occured to me that if I make the top brackets a
little wider (say +20mm), with the use of spaces/washers I would have a level of castor adjustment.
Is this a good idea, or is it not worth the bother (as I've already made the brackets to the standard size)?

I'm no expert but sounds good to me, I think I've had the same idea in the past. 20mm sounds a lot though.

A great idea, had the same one myself. I asked around with professional Lotus 7 racers in the area who built their own front suspension setups, and
they said that they ended up using about 20 mm for racing, but that 10-15 mm would be about right for the street. They suggested no bothering with
less than 1/4" spacers, though - my "micro-adjustable" idea ( by turning an internal adjustable shaft) was apparently a waste of
time - they said to stick with the spacers.

Another option is to change your inboard bushes for rod ends. This will allow you to have spacer/washers. To help you could also move your top
brackets back about 10mm aswell.

This is ok, but you must ensure the brackets are adequately supported i.e. not hanging off the edges of the tubes.

Thanks Guys,
You've made my mind up to go for this. I'll probably go for 15mm as suggested, but I'll see what that looks like as I start putting
things together.
I'll certainly be happier that I'll be able to tweak the suspension in all planes, should the need arise.

This was something I'd thougt of. I'll be trying to mount the brackets as centrally as possible to the tubes, and see what that looks
like. If I'm not happy I can strengthen as required.
