Sierra LSD Diff Oil ?

I'm about to clean up my diff and install new seals and get it all ready before my chassis arrives .... I was thinking of changing the diff oil, is this recomended and if so what type should I use or should I leave it alone ?

The diff is a 7" 4x4 lsd type (3:62)

Cheers,
Kosmo.

the lsd is sealed so use normal oil.

It is "I think" EP 90, if not its EP 80. Think either would do, and as the diff is probably worn a bit I would go for the EP90. HTH Ray

I have the haynes manual, it specifies one kind of oil for both open and LSD:

"Hypoid gear oil, viscosity SAE 90 to API GL5 (Duckhams Hypoid 90S)"

I've got a BMW with LSD, and i wouldn't put standard diff oil in it... always LSD oil. usually about £10 per litre. you can get it from rally design easy enough

But your BMW has a totally different type of LSD so it needs LSD oil

The Sierra diffs are sealed and contain their own LSD oil which isn't replaced/changed. Just normal diff oil needed for the CWP.
