Ford '16' brake callipers... help needed
I recently split my M16 callipers to clean and fit new seals etc... got the Lucas overhall kit, and new Bolts, bleed nipples etc..
Just discovered that the small rubber washer on the fluidway to the bleed nipple is not included!!
My friendly motor factor says you cant buy em since you're not meant to split the calliper... anyone know a source?
If not, anyone got a couple spare??
Otherwise, I've just spent a day cleaning and overhauling these callipers to create ballast..... aarrgghh!

Transfer port seal?
Hi Jumpy,
I suspect that you are referring to the transfer port seal. This is p/n 2264325808, and yes, it is b***dy difficult to obtain. I'll try my
contacts at the factory, and let you know.
BTW - Have you got fresh bridge bolts? You mustn't use the old ones ('cos they'll fail).

Yep, got new bolts all round
In my 'must do as much myself' mission, got new bolts, new seals, new pistons, cleaned, painted, etc etc etc
Lots of elbow grease... and now i cant reassemble the feckin things!!
Transfer seal.. is that what it is? its the wee seal between the calliper halves, leads to the bleed nipple...
any help much appreciated.... I now have a moving car (engine in , running) and I'm dying to take it for a sneaky run up my road.... but not
without brakes..

I don't know this particular seal, but for lots of these types of things bearing Distributors can often help. Many seals are standard across
many automotive and industrial applications and if you have the old ones the distributors can often measure them and suppl replacements.
Have a look in Yellow Pages, there are loads of bearing distributors in Glasgow.

Tried a couple of dealers using that part number, to no avail
But I've just re-found the old ones, and they look OK, no nicks, so I might reuse them... not that keen, but I'm thinking that an old but
intact original seal is better than a new but incorrect one.
Thoughts??

Jumpy - Have tried all my contacts to blag some of these seals, but without success. They are as rare as rocking-horse ordure, so check your original
seals with a strong magnifying glass, and if they are undamaged, re-use 'em.
Best of luck
Work-in-Progress: Changed to Zetec + T9. Still trying!!

What are bridge bolts? the 2 at the top and the 2 at the bottom? if so why will they fail?
