Capri Dif Ratio, Identifying

Hello People.

Does anyone know what ratio the various Capri back axles are?

Does anyone know if there is a ratio tab on the diff itself? Or do I just have to go by the model type. Or were they all the same?

I know the 1.6 has a 3.75:1

I am fairly sure that the 2.0 has a 3.54:1 and the 2.8 has a 3.15:1

The tags usually rust off fairly quickly and the casting numbers are the same because it is only the inners vary.

I checked mine by tippexing one hub and the pinion, locking the other hub (this is when you find you have an LSD or not!), and rotation the hub and counting the turns of hub and and pinion until the tippex marks line up exactly, divide one by the other and multiply by 2. The method is good enough to check even similar ratio's.

Thanks for that Mark. I want to put the information into a motor maths program so that I get to 60 at top revvs in second. Hopefully getting the 0-60 times as good as I can.

BTW could you tell me where you got those adjustable trailing arms?
