Getting Se7en suspension done at local garages
Does anyone have experience of having their tracking done at a "local" garage???
I've got shed loads of camber on the OSF wheel and a fair bit on the NSF and my toe-in's a bit extreme (and that's ignoring the
rears) and although I could get all the bits and pieces and bodge the tracking I'd rather throw some money at this problem. I don't want
to spend my sunny weekends in the garage and I'm fed up with the Locost handling like a rabid pig!!! I would supply evidence from the video of
my latest blat but unfortunately my speedo was overreading considerably and I'm worried the police won't realise I was really going slower
than my speedo makes it seem.....
If I take the LocoPan to the local KwikShit type place are they going to give me Paddington stares or will they actually be able to sort the tracking
even if they don't have a manual telling them how to????

and I know I'm being a big southern softy and should do it properly myself!!!

£40 to decent body shop with a 4 wheel alignment tool should sort you out. People that fix crashed cars and have the correct gear usually know what
they are doing.
If you look on the westfield site they used to list all the various settings, so that should be pretty close and better than guessing. here's
something I just googled this for a SEi
Front
Tracking 10’ toe out
Camber 3/4º negative
Rear 40’ toe in
Tracking 1/2º negative

Alternatively a Lotus specialist with hunter kit as the Elise is very sensative to alignment settings. They'll charge a lot more than a kwik
fit. Alignment alone isn't really enough as you would benefit from corner weighting as well.

Just centre everything as best you can and buy yourself a Gunson Trakrite

True but tracking's a start!! At the moment my wheels are at crazy angles!! It has a interesting effect on handling!! I know my tyres will wear
out soon but as they're 2001 a539s they need to go to the scrapheap in the sky soon anyway!! Donuts time.....
