Coil-over shocks

I am just starting to pull together all the items I need for my build and I have got the chance of some second-hand coil-over shocks. I understand they are from a Westfield kit. Can someone give me advice on what I need to look for? Dimensions specifications needed and price before I go and look at them.

Thanks,

RPS

as a guide.......

12 - 13 inches long uncompressed

8 ins fully compressed

APPROX 160 - 200lb springs rear

APPROX 220 - 350 lbs front

depends on the engine for the fronts - and the angle you mount them at.

you can always buy new springs - cost about 30 quid a pair (but losts more some places).

dont spend more than 220 quid or so - you can buy them for that new from Darren on this site (dozracing i think is his member name - do a search).

Thanks. That is just the information I needed. I have a 2.8 Ford v6 to put in (if I can get it to fit) so I assume that I will need springs rated at the top end of your scale?

I have the 2.4 baby brother of the ford 2.9 v6.

350 lb springs seem 'about right' at the front, and I have 180 at the rear, which, static - itns not drivable yet - seem a tad stiff.

bear in mind that altho 350 seems steep, due to the mounting angle, they have a lever action on em from the front suspension that make sthe effective rating much lower....
