brake pipes

Just about to buy a 25ft reel of brake pipe, will this be enough to complete an MK indy with standard Sierra (drums on rear) brake set-up?

Cheers

Nick

is there more than one type?

Steel, copper or kunifer10 brake pipe is available. I use kunifer but it's down to preference or availability I suppose.

yours, Pete.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I'm not sure what type it is now you ask!!!

It's from my local motor factor, it's Ø3/16 and costs £12 inc VAT for a 25ft coil.

Looking at the colour and bendability it's not steel.

Pete - what is the kunifer 10 pipe you mention?

Cheers

The kunifer 10 is a copper nickel and iron alloy that doesn't look as pink as copper pipe. It is more resistant to the vibration and work hardening than copper and it doesn't rust like steel. It is type approved for automobile use. The price is comparable to copper and steel is a bit cheaper. A roll of pipe is under £10 at the parts shop I use.

yours, Pete.

I reckon that's what I have then, it's definitely not steel and its to grey for Copper.

Thanks Pete!

I've found that the Escort rear cylinders and the Cortina calipers that I'm using are both 10x1mm, hope that helps.
