Leaf spring problem?

When I took th eleaf springs off the back of my MG, it was riding at exactly the right hieght, so I just wire brished them clean and sprayed them with clear waxoyl.

Now I've re-fitted them, with new bushes, the car is riding 4 inches higher, anyone understand these things, will they settle back down, complete mystery to me....

Cheers.
Pete.

Have you mounted them on top of the axle, instead of underneath ?

You've tightened them in that position?

hello,

If you remove and clean then they may settle a little higher, but not 4".

Did you tighten the bolts with the axle in droop, you need to have all the bolts loose and the car at the correct ride height or the rubber bushes will be destroyed in days.

Regards Mark
