Sick as a Pig or what?
Went to get my steering rack out of shed today and realised what a monster C-up I've made ....
I had 2 steering racks before we moved house 11 months ago, one Mk2 escort and one Sierra. Not wishing to stockpile spares I got rid of one of them.
Bet no-one can guess which one???
Anyone out there know the cheapest way to acquire another for my +442? (keeping within the law of course!)
Am I a Dong or what???

cant you have extensions made ? the sierra one needed cutting down anyway I know cos I built a plus 4 if you dont cut it down its too long

I don't know which one you've got/kept but I'm hoping it's the Escort one.
I fitted an MK modded Sierra one to my car and really wish I hadn't! Chopping it like that is a really crappy idea... it was clearly flexing in
the middle when I turned the steering! I ended up beefing up the mount to 5mm plate to try and stop in flexing!

Guess what......I am the proud owner of a sierra rack!!! 
Do I feel a pratt or what!
But panic over, I've just managed to source one so I can now get on and sort out the front end. I am ordering the brackets and will attempt my
own bones from oval tube.
I'm not sure, but as everyone says that the +442 needs track rod extensions, I may be able to change the escort ones for the sierra ones. Never
stripped a rack before?
