Escort Diff Pinion Seal
Greatings from down under.
Not sure what it is like in the rest of the world but Ford have forgotten about anything made mroe than 10 years ago over here.
Trying to source a Mk11 Escort pinion diff seal and no luck in NZ. Can some one please suggest a source in the UK and if I am lucky I have a mate
coming back to NZ in a week or so and he may be so kind as to risk international airport security and put it in his bag.
On the topic of Escort diffs. Are these what the call English diffs?
Thanks Blair
PS has the rest of the world given up on genuine escort steering rack gators in preference for universal ones that look horrible and dont fold up
neatly?

Seals & Other parts
G'day Blair,
Greetings from the Northern hemi. This week we've had snow blizzards, ice, torrential rain and gale force winds. You must be so envious,
sipping a cold beer out by the barby in all that sunshine!!
Now for the serious stuff :-
1: Escort diff pinion seal - Difficult to obtain even here in UK. Best advice is to take the old seal to a specialist supplier and ask him to match
it.
2: Other parts - Try www.carparts-direct.co.uk & also posting to martin@partsforoldercars.co.uk.
3: Another source for those obsolete rubber items is -

Good Luck with your build

I don't know about NZ, but if I wanted one in the UK I would take the seal (or it's dimensions) to a bearing and power transmission
distributor and ask them for one. Most automotive seals and bearings are adopted by industrial applications because they tend to be cheap due to the
volumes involved. The industrial application then continue long after the car which originally used the part has gone out of production.

Thanks Guys, Think I will start with taking it to see if I can match locallly. Found a seal listed at Burton Power last night but at 8 pound for the
seal and 34 pound freight I think I will try this side of the world for a while.
Dick with regards to the weather we have put he BBQ's a way for a while as it has finally started to rain and you have never seen people so
happy. We have had the driest summer on record nearly and the fire risk has been extreme. But theres no need to put hte bear back in the fridge
Cheers Blair
