track rod ends again

Well my new Quinton Hazell track rod ends arrived today. MK indy Ford sierra set up.

Quick question, do I need to grease them/or do anything before fitting them.

Also, anybody got any idea what the torque setting is for the nuts?

Cheers
Craig

The locknuts are 42-50 lbf ft [57-68 Nm]

The nuts on the ball joints (to the hub carrier) are 15-24 lbf ft [20-32Nm] and then tighten to next available pin hole.

All the above according to Haynes.

I always use a smear of grease when fitting the TRE to the rack end. Don't use grease etc on the balljoint nut if using a nylock.

A bit of copper slip on the track rod threads will help prevent the TRE seizing up, you'll be glad you did it when you come to adjust the tracking next time.
