striping cortena uprights
Hi
I have been trying to strip down my cortena up rights and I have a question.
How do you remove the disk from the hub?
I have removed the hub from the upright and removed the 4 bolts on the back of the disk. I would have assumed that with some persuasion the disk could
now be removed. However it does not seam to be coming apart.
Thanks for any hints and tips.
I was considering using the electrolysis cleaning method and then leaving it for a good soak in some thing penetrating.

Hit the disk very hard lots of times with a lump hammer till it falls apart in many small pieces, then replace it with a new one for about £10. It
will break up as it is cast iron. Wear your glasses while doing this.
yours, Pete.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Or even harder with a rubber mallet if your disk is worth saving, but like Pete said, they're only £10 for a new one!!!
