Driveshaft joints

Which way round does the joint go onto the driveshaft? (Push in driveshafts).

One side if the joint has a chamfer on the splines. Does this face onto the shaft or face outwards?

I took loads of pics before dismantling but non showing which way round it was.

I'm 99.9% sure it doesn't matter. I didn't pay any particular attention wehn I rebuilt mine and haven't had any issues since.

I'm going for the chamfer facing out on the grounds that the square end of the splines will rest on the square shoulder on the shaft.
