steering rack problems
Hi from Italy, I have bought a used Raw Striker. According to my
(few) information the car should use an escort mk2 steering rack
(actually I thought that most seven replicas used it) so I bought the
Quaife 2.2 quick rack and pinion kit for escort mk2 but apparently both pinion and rack
doesn't fit into my steering box: do you think it's possible that my
car does not use the escort mk2 steering rack? Or maybe
it's normal that the original escort steering box needs some
modifications to fit the quaife rack and pinion?
In the first case can you suggest me where I can buy an escort
Mk2 steering rack to fit the quaife kit?
Thanks a lot

You need to put up a photo of the existing rack.

Hi there,
rallydesign do complete LHD steering racks (if you still have the chance to return the Quaife unit).

I am guess you need a tired LHD Mk2 escort rack otherwise, which might be challenging. Loads in RHD (2 in my shed!).
If it isn't Escort Mk2 now, then will you have to change the mounts and such? If its a "Raw" striker, then it is quite recent, why
not contact Mel at Raw. If it is an older striker then you could try the google chat list and see if someone knows what you have got?

Unfortunately now (since the shits always come together) I have not
A good internet acces and I can't upload photos. I will do it ASAP
Anyway the matter has nothing to do with LHD/RHD: my car is
RHD and the quaife kit is RHD.
I have tried to contact RAW but they didn'answer me...could you
give me the email of this Mel?
