Custom brake discs

Anyone know who I can contact to make some custom brake discs for me?

Im after 2 x 260mm solid cast iron with a 61mm centre bore and 4 hole 76.2mm (3 inch) PCD - no offset just a flat disc.

Have been searching brake catalogues endlessly hoping it matches something off the shelf but no luck so far though I think its supposed to be the same as a vauxhall viva?!

Ideas / help greatly appreciated before my valiant attempt at a new front end comes to an end!

Cheers

Geoff

Find some discs that are 'bigger' in all directions and then get them machined down to your required size. Mr Monkey (Flak) on here could probably do that for you.

Cheers ashg - have just emailed them, will see what that brings...

Mike - have found some custom alloy bells on the raldes website which can be turned to the right dims. No probs for me to do that, got access to all the gear but its £60 each side for the bell then another £60 each side for the discs - ouch!

The 10.25" solid discs fitted to the 2 litre and 2.3 litre Viva/Firenza/Magnum/Victor FD discs had a small off set --- I don't know about the vented discs on the Droopsnout Firenza.

Any reason why you can't go for a "top hat" disc that fits over the hub from the outside as on the front of Escort Mk3 and Sierra ?

What about a water cut disc?
If the cut is done at a slow (more expensive) rate the cut is very good.

Hi BT - cheers for the suggestion and yes it is possible to go for the "top hat" style over the front of the hub.

Its just a bit neater and lighter to bolt a 0 offset disc onto the rear of the hub. The tiniest of offset would probably be workable but any more than the thickness of the disc and I cant see it working.

Water cut discs sound good Darren - anyone you know of who could quote me?

personally I can only suggest NOT using Hispec under any circumstances. The only thing more appalling than their timescales is their customer service.
