brake bleed nipple

hi all
fitted my wheel cylinders which now run vertical as opposed to original position of horizontal, and planning on putting brake lines in next.
can anyone tell me if the brake bleed nipple goes to top of wheel cylinder or bottom?
i am pretty sure it is to the top but would like clarification
thanks
steve

you will only get the air out of the system through the bleed nipples if they are at the top of that bit of the system....
