Power steering rack?
im building an MK indy R R1.
ive got myself a cheap donor car, but it has power steering.
does this mean i won't be able to use the steering rack? and will need to get another non powered one.

It will never pass IVA/MOT if it has hydraulic systems built into it which are not properly connected..
Add to that the weight and unfavourable ratio and its not a good idea!
Get a non PAS rack!

On the RX7 (which I've done an engine conversion to recently) some people de-power the rack. The internal oil seals need removing to reduce
resistance and the rack needs some welds to remove slop which is usually taken up by the oil under pressure. Might be the same for your rack.

Power steering racks are a higher ratio than non power racks about 2.4
