Help with Sierra diff tag code

Just picked up a D reg 2.3 D Sierra from a local Octogenarian who had it from new

Haven't got the diff of yet, but you can guess I'm hoping it's a 3.14

Got the code from the tag as follows...

83BG LC 338
4A 7C25

Does that mean it's a 3.38....?

Yes that means its a 3.38

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

I started there, but unless I'm being a dipstick, the code on my diff tag bears no relation to the codes listed. I don't have the VIN plate off the car yet so can't check against that.

That's what I suspect...not 3.14 Gold, but 3.38 Silver

Shame I know, but still one of the rarer ratios Will be of the 7" variety and the code in the 'axle' box on the slam panel vin plate should be 'V' to tally up.
