How to check an Escort Steering Rack
I have an LHD Escort steering Rack. I need to check if it is a quick rack or standard.
Is there a quick way of checking?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I think it's just over 3 1/2 turns for a standard rack. (I would check mine, but I can't get in the garage at the minute )

Standard is 3.5 turns lock to lock. Quicks are available as 2.9 and 2.4. Put a pair of mole grips (lightly locked) on the imput and count the turns
from one extreme to the other. Pull the boots back first to check there's not been any spacers put in to restrict the racks range.

Right
I didn't want to pull the gaiters apart but i tried it like that. I could take them apart as they are being held with cable ties. But, the
gaiters are getting too deformed to make me think that they are spacers on them.
The input shaft does 2 turns and approximately 1/3 on top of that.
On the bottom of the mount it says 244 1007
Could it be the part number?

I need to sell it to fund my tintop rear brake disc conversion.
