suspension problem !!!
my chassis had all the brackets welded on when i bought it [ from somebody who had bought lots of parts then realised he did nt have enough time to
build it !] The problem being when the shock absorbers are fitted there is about half an inch of gap ! is this normal with an easy solution ? The same
applies to my two front upper wishbones ! The lower ones fit perfectly !I really don t want to have the hassle of putting new brackets on if it can be
helped . so any iva friendly solutions would be greatly appreciated .

Are you using Rose joints if so spacers will be required, at a pinch use washers whilst setting up the geometry.

I could take pictures but it would probably take me quite a while to get them on but i ll try . When the shock absorbers or front wishbone are mounted
in their brackets there is about a quarter of an inch gap on either side . As if the inside measurement of the brackets was half an inch too wide .
Its like they need spacers on either side or something else .

Poly bushes have 1/4" either side, if this is still not wide enough spacers would be ok

As said above spacers, washers will do to set up in fact i've left my washers in and 7 years on they are fine.

No not using rose joints
.metalastic i think they re called .So what would be the iva friendly solution in the long term please ?

Use stainless steel washers to pack out the shock absorber and the wishbones in fact use them as adjustment for your castor on the wishbones

Nick, do you understand what Rusty said?
The gap on the wishbone is intentional, it allows lateral movement to set the castor angle.
