LSD
Does anybody know if you can remove the drive flanges from the Sierra LSD and use the normal push in drive shafts, therefore keeping the drum brake
set-up? Thanks in advance.

IIRC someone posted long ago saying that one type (either lobro or tripod) would work with either setup, but the other could onyl go with the one. Not
a clue which was which. Maybe worth an experiment?!

Hi there
I posted on this a while back (after viewing lots of shafts and diff inards). You can remove the flanges of an LSD (by opening the back and
taking out the circlips with strong circlip pliers) but you cant then insert standard tripode type shafts. When you've taken the
flanges out of your LSD you'll see why - the splines on the LSD flanges are different lengths either side whereas they are the same length on
the tripode shafts (and the flanges for non LSD lobro type shafts). Find my older post for photos. This is a definitive answer.

Hi Titch,
why not chop and sleeve if your other option is not possible, using inner flanged ends and outer standard shafts with a machined sleeve between.Seem to
remember ST cars were like this at one time in order to shorten the width.
I've got a lath in the garage at home if you need any bits doing,I also have a spare standard diff & shafts etc .
Just u2u me if you need help.
Its about time you called in anyway!
DEAN..........
Once I've finished a project why do I start another?
