Wheel offsets
I would like somone to answer the following questions regarding wheel offsets;
1) I have a standard 'book' chassis with a MK1 Escort back axle and Cortina front, what offset do i require so that i can use standard
rear wings?
2) What is the recommended wheel/tyre combination for looks and cost?
By the way, i intend to get a set of Minilite wheels. I was thinking about 6x13s or 14s.
Please someone explain, cos the offset stuff is a mystery to me.
Cheers

You need a low offset (ET19....) and 13x6 with a 185/60 tyre would be perfect.

Just my opinion, but I think 185/60s are a bit too small on the OD, 185/70s suit the car much better (and are the same rolling diameter as the
standard Escort, making the speedo read correctly). Having said that, I've got 195/50 x 15s on mine and they look cool!!

Would 5.5x13 wheels with a dimension of 100 from the inside edge of the wheel to the mating face fit a standard Locost?
As far as i can make out a 5.5" wheel would be 140mm, dividing that by 2 gives 70 minus the 100 gives -30.
Does that mean that the offset would be ET30? and would that fit?
