oh crap! Lost the damn keys. how to bypass Sierra column?
After some time off work I've come back to find there's a charity car show on Friday (at work) and I'd like to take the Locost.
Then I discover I can't find the keys!
I have standard Sierra column with a Premier Loom. What would I have to do to bypass it?
Thanks,
James

Pull the black plug off of the back of the key barrel and use a screw driver in the slot?
Assuming its that style of barrel.
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

In terms of replacing the lock, I believe it's just a case of drilling the pin that holds the barrel in?
Do you not then need to replace that pin in some way as well?
Thanks,
James
Bi22le, you beat me to it!

The pin is in the new barrel. I would drill the barrel so you can turn it to position 1 and press the pin to pull the barrel.
It wont be easy to drill the pin as its chrome plated steel in an alloy housing.

Does it have the stock sierra steering lock ? If so pulling the black housing off the back so it can be started with a screwdriver won't help
much .

Took the switch off the back and got it turning over that way.
Still the steering lock to worry about and realised the bloom in fuel cap key is with the ignition.
So it's all pretty academic and have given up with this little exercise.
Made a job list instead (massive) ready for once I have the new boiler fitter here! Lol
Thanks for all the help,
James

don't suppose you've got a photo of your key anywhere ?
assuming its the round style of ford key they can be quite easy to work out the code for ordering a new one
