Mk2 Escort tie rod

Anyone know the thread of the nyloc nut on the tie rod end in a mk2 escort rack?

Doesn't seem to be M10 or 3/8 but somewhere in between ???

5/16"
Possibly
May also be a thread pitch issue
Someone with a Haynes Escort manual could help

Depends entirely on which ball joint manufacturer made the part.

Invest in a set of Verviers,a pitch gauge and a Zuess chart, that way you will find the correct thread size/pitch for anything you will ever need to find

I asked this exact question recently. I had two different pairs of nuts that would only fit on one set of either the tie rod ball joint or the upright ball joint. I ended up taking them to a bolt shop who measured the threads. It turned out the nuts just had shagged threads and all four were M12 x 1.5.

So given that mine are M12 and yours are near M10, I'd go with what britishtrident said.
