Steering rack help!!

I began the fabrication of my steering downlink last weekend. You can get an idea of what I planned on my website but the jist is this: I made my column from scratch. The downlink would consist of two U joints--the last UJ ending on the steering rack pinion. However common sense escaped me, and I welded the pinion side UJ to the downlink itself.

Not wanting to go back to the scrappers, I'm now in the market for a new UJ to fit on the pinion. Does anyone know the diameter and spline count of the pinion on a MKII steering rack? I need to somehow source this bit, preferably in the US. I read in the archives that Rally Design do a bit called "Group 4 Steering Coupling" but could not find it on their website.

Alternatively, if anyone has the appropriate bit gone spare, I'm interested.

--Thanks, Chris

Chris,
What do you mean the scrappers are dangerous here in the US?
I am in Chicago, and hope to make my first visit to a scrap yard soon. What should I look out for? Pitbulls? Mittle European accents? Tony Soprano?
Cheers
Karl

Disregarding the dangerous scrappers...

Any idea what part I need to attach the steering rack pinion to the downlink? I would prefer a UJ but am open to suggestions.
