2.0L ztec
I am looking at a ztec for only $800 USD new complete but I need a tranny for a locost. the stateside 2.3L t5 can be made to fit (same bell as a 2.0L
pinto) but what do you ise? to get it to fit I have to cut and weld sections of the two bells to make the starter work. I am shy of a T9 since they
seem to be kinda weak and inpossible to find here in the states.

We are going to use a 1.8 zetec and we are intending to use the type 9 box. The locost isn't a very heavy beast and I would have thought that the T9
box would be fine for normal road use. If you are intending to take it racing it might be another matter. Of course if ya can't find one then you
will have to find an alternative. I'm sure I have seen a post on here that tells you what engines can bolt to which boxes (or a link to a site that
does) that might be of some help to ya.

well T9's are about $450 and a T5 is only $100. plus I can get parts for them all day long. there must be about 10 different aftermarket shifters
for them in the us. plus I am leaning towards using a turbo 2.3L us motor. they can be modded to 300 hp easy and make tons of torque. I just came
across some cheap 2.0L that only need a ecu for chep and was wondering if I could make it work. so how does one bolt a zetec to a T9?
