luego suspension
I have been looking at my suspension set up and Im after a bit of advice.
The car is a luego velocity with Cortina uprights and IRS, recently changed engine from a 2.0 pinto to a 2.0 duratec using oem ecu
My shocks are Gaz,
12" open
10" closed front and back,
Springs are 8" all round,
300lb front,
200lb rear.
Does this current setup seem ok as it seems a bit hard on the road.
what ride height do other luego's use/set.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
cheers.

You state 2" Shock travel, wich sounds too little...
What is the Installation Ratio? Or what is your wheel travel?
Beware of what you wish.. for it may come true....

I also think 2" is too short but it is what they measure, also think the front springs are way to hard.
Ive measured from the centre of the holes that the shocks bolt through and they are follows,
Wishbone at full dropped = 11.5"
Wishbone at its highest = 9"
Obviously this was done without the shock in.

First thing to check is the well known crush tube issue , it's been covered loads of times . Sorting that out softened my Luego suspension?no
end and also quietened things down considerably. My X flow engined car uses 300lb front springs and 150 rear , when it was set up by Procomp they
thought the rears may have been a touch on the soft side but managed to adjust them so they were happy with them . Not sure what the stroke on the
dampers was .I have all of the settings somewhere , I'll try to find them . Getting the suspension set up by Procomp was probably the best thing
I did with the car .

And don't forget tyre pressures. Started mine on 20 lb with tooth fillings falling out but magically at 17.5 lb pressure it is a comfortable
ride

tyre pressure also depends on the wheel size...what size are your wheels and tyres? the lower the tyre-profile the less comfy they are.
i´m running my 185/60R13 with around 1 bar rear, front 1.2bar
front coils also seem to be on the hard side.
the adjuster on the shocks is set on the lower range of clicks?

Agreed about wheel size - mine are 195/45 x 15 Toyos. In my local kit car club most 7's run between 16 and 18 psi and most are on 195/50 x 15
tyres (all except one are Toyo's as well!) 1 bar is 14.5 and 1.2 bar is 17.4psi. My front and rear coils seem about right although I can't
recall the rating and shocks are 3 click from lowest setting front and 4 clicks for the rears which gives a comfy ride with not too much skipping on
bumpy roads.
