Brake bias bar.
I am now getting to the stage of my brakes. I am using the standard Sierra master cyliner and servo with Front and rear discs.
The car originally had ABS but got shot of that. What do I need to do to give me the correct front to rear braking forces? It also needs to be SVA
friendly - which I think means it must not me adjusted once set (ie on the move).
Ewan.

I am going the same way with brakes as you,i was told by MK who supplied my chassis that with the sierra m/cylinder i would'nt need the bias.
The problem with the bias used on the sierra is that it wont work on the rolling road(SVA test). It will only work on the road as its sort of inertia
based,if and when you slam the brakes on a ballbearing in the bias shoots forward decreasing the pressure to rear brakes.
If someone can tell me otherwise i would be gratefull of the info.

I've been following a similar thread on the Robin Hood group. Some of the guys on that group have used valves from Fiesta's. Apparently they are non
adjustable and don't rely on inertia to reduce the pressure to the back brakes. By all accounts all you need to do is plumb one of these in to the
rear brake line and hey presto instant SVA friendly balanced brakes.

The good bit about UNO not panda(sorry ny mistake)valves is they are the same as a mini valve in opperation but have the opperating rod outside so no
need to drill holes etc, just fit and make a bracket for an adjusting bolt to push on the opperating rod
so simple even i could do it!

What's the deal with getting balance bar adjustable brakes through an SVA. I have been planning to use a balance bar brake pedal, Tilton for
example, and have it fully adjustable (in cockpit) after the SVA.
I've heard some people have got them passed as they are, some people have had to have lock nuts to prevent adjustment, and some people have had to
weld the lock nuts on.
Does anybody know the official line?
Cheers

spoke to R/Hood guy at stoneleigh and some sva centres have even tried to fail "wired"
Titon---important though- apparantly must not be adj. from cockpit?!
Cheers Mike.
