Mk indy brake master cylinder
Where can i buy a brake master cylinder for my mk indy?
The local Ford dealer dont know Which model i need.

did MK build it, if not, what master was used ?
the place i used for brake parts was https://brakeparts.co.uk/shop/Ford
they includes pics so worth a look, they also give part / tag numbers as well.

Likely to be a Sierra 22mm cylinder, which doesn't work very well so I would swap it for something else.

I think its a Sierra m/c but dont know. I made 3 photos but dont know hoe to upload in this topic. I added them in my photo archive, can you see them?

What m/c do you recommend? And is this a direct replacement? The Indy is in workshop and dont think they want to convert to another system if its a
lot of work.

I have a MAC#1 ( very similar to MK) with the donor sierra M/C and donor front/rear brakes, it works just fine.
Why do they call Port Harcourt "The Garden City"?...... Becauase they can't spell Stramash.

that looks like the master from a sierra, the one most people go for is a NON servo fiesta MK1, downsizing on the bore makes a huge difference to
braking performance.

Are the masters of a sierra al the same? M/c must be shipped to Holland so i dont like to order x-times becouse it wont fit.
Is the fiesta also a direct fit?

Aren't there any motor factors you can take it to?
As far as I know most non-abs Sierras don't have the same mc, but can probably be easily made to fit. Mine came from a 1990 1.8 cvh Sierra
Sapphire and is 22mm dia.
Any idea what the donor car was?

I dont know the donor, i bought the car in Holland. So i think im the third owner. Car was build in the uk.
They told me i have a 3:14 diff, in what models was that diff installed.

Problem is if you don't know it was built from a single donor the bits could have come from anywhere.
If there isn't a brake supplier you can take your old one to you will have to take a chance. £50 isn't much of a risk.
Only other option is to get it refurbished. What's actually wrong with it?

unfortunatly there seems to be loads of different master cylinders, there is normally a plastic tag on the body that is the ID number you need.
no idea if a fiesta cylinder is a direct fit, probably pretty close, i change mine for a FIAT 127 one, it was brilliant but took some mods to make it
fit.

If you still want to fit the Sierra mcyl, I have an old, but unused, one available. Still attached to its servo-booster, I had it for an installation
check (when still at work).
Work-in-Progress: Changed to Zetec + T9. Still trying!!

All Sierras had servos fitted as standard. The reason people change the standard mc on kits is because they tend to be used without servos so need a
really firm push if the Sierra mc is used

Wouldn’t it just be easier to get it from mk instead of trying to find the right one for your
breaks, as there is different types for different breaks!

If it is an Indy, there is a 99% chance you need a standard sierra master cylinder. One of these should do, and they are cheap enough to take a
chance.
