Best place to get calipers rebuilt?
I want to get a pair of sierra rear and cortina front calipers rebuilt. Any suggestions?

Find your nearest reliable car spares shop and get some factory reconditioned units on an exchange basis.
Far cheaper than paying for a recon job on your own items, and you'll get 12 months warranty as well.

Calipers
Sierra/Granada rear calipers are expensive to recon,i was quoted £57 for seal/piston kit from FORDS and thats without VAT.
I found this company though and thought it was a fair price considering http://www.rmcarspares.co.uk/
Also for cortina repair kits http://www.gtscougar.freeserve.co.uk/locost.htm

Collecting re-con Cortina calipers today -
£32+vat each ---on exchange basis from local motor factors company
Spoke to the guy at the addresss suggested above, yesterday, re: seal kit at £18 and he was really helpful , even suggesting that it may be better to
buy recon calipers for a Cortina hub as there is likely to be probs with the old pistons --also feeling lazy and couldn't be bothered to continue
cleaning old calipers

I was browsing Lolocosts web site last week and found a Sierra brake package for about £75. It included a pair of new calipers, 2 brake disks (solid
not vented) and a pair of flexi pipes.
I just tried their web site again to check details but the site is down at the moment. Check for yourselves, just incase my memory is doing tricks.

Thanks for that Tony. I'm off to Exeter next month so I'm hoping that Lolocost will be selling their wares at the show. I did notice though that the
disks are solid, whereas the ones off my donor are vented. Will that make a difference seeing as the Indy is so much lighter than a Sierra?
