Best steering UJ?
My spitfire uses an escort gp4 steering uj. The one on the car has been on 5 years, and was on teh previous one for 3 years, but had some play.
Luckily, I had a brand new one, still sealed in its bag in a cupboard (I can't remember the supplier). Today, swapped for the new one and it is
far worse than the old one, the actual UJ has a load of play in it
So, who sells a really decent steering UJ? I don't want cheap, I want quality. I have found this one, made in the UK but I am not sure if that
is really a benefit. But at least they know the origins of it!

Anybody got any advice. Ideally based on long term use....
Cheers

AB specifically made theirs after problems with the quality of those available

I will contact AB, but the website shows their joint splined one side, and smooth for welding the other (makes sense for their application, I need
splined both sides)
I am hopeful they can supply one with 2 splined sides if I ask nicely. (and it may be a useful addition to their sales if others want a quality
joint)

Car Builder Solutions have forged ones, don't know if they would suit what you are looking for.

You would expect they can as they are rebuildable. I'm sure I saw double splined ones when they launched them a few years ago.
