Locost chassis Cad DXF file RX8 Rear suspension
Hi all!
I've just started a locost build to compete in a championship series next year in the 750mc motorclub.
I've been a mechanic all my life and started design last year so it will take me some time to design the rear suspension to fit it to the
chassis on cad I have. Admittingly the chassis is a wavelinked copy and too restrictive to edit.
I've been searching for dxf files for a locost chassis, RX8 rear suspension but I can't so hence why I'm here trying to get some
help. I don't suppose anyone could help or point me in the right direction?

Im also looking into building a car based on RX8 suspension, as far as I know the RX8 and MX5 NC share the same rear end only the Diff ratios are
different, I dont have any 3D or DXF's but I do have the PDF Information for the McSorley car builds and also the MX5 conversion PDF if these
are any use, I also found this https://grabcad.com/library/mcsorley7-442e-frame-1 not sure how usefull it could be, depends on what software you have.

Hi Shaun,
I've seen these before and found some dxf files on the 7th heaven website but nothing in RH drive which makes the modifications time consuming.
What are you building?

Im going for a Gt Cruiser type using the AJ30 with RX8 Gubbins, if you get good enough DXF files can you not just do a mirror on them to get the LHD
(easy to say without having the files to hand) I was speaking with bigwasa on here regards a sump and so atm im just looking to create a smaller more
packageable sump that hopefully I can do as a kit to help out the guys with FWD Duratec v6 or with the huge Jag sump.
Are you looking to mount the whole subframe or just the mounting points for the suspension?

My car needs to be light as I will be racing it so I won't be using the subframe and the car will be about half the weight of a RX8 so the
stress loads wont be as high.
The pick up points I might be able to scan in at work, (reverse engineering) so they will be spot on.
What I still need to know is what the angle of the drive shafts are relative to the chassis then I can work out what the intended static ride height
will be so I don't upset the geometry. Of course I'll have camber and toe adjustment to set up what I want.

I have actually done that but only wave linked it, I must have done a mirror geometry before but I'll try again.

Ive been looking for more information on this as its still part of what im planning, and I figured why not share.

This is a picture showing the driveshafts look to be level when in a normal driving position, usefull for making sure suspension is in the right
place
Here is an STL of the front subframe (beleive MX5 NC and RX8 are the same) Im planning to use this for the suspension pick up points
