Type9 clutch cable lengths
The clutch cable I'm using has an eye for a clevis pin and the outer is about 920m long. I can find no record amongst my purchase invoices of the
cable but I would like to know what vehicle it's from so that I can buy a spare.
I would be grateful if anyone could post a list of type9 clutch cable lengths please but only those with an eye at one end..

I trawled eBay, Burton power ect and just compared escorts, capris, cortina’s, granadas and so on.

I've just done the same thing but cannot find the lengths on the Ebay ads. Burton list and extra long cable with a length and hat might do. I
just need to ask them what length the outer is.

Just to complete the story, I've just called Burton and the extra long cable has an inner length of 1230mm and the outer 950mm which is pretty
close to what I have fitted so I've ordered a spare. Job jobbed!

I think the code quoted in replacement part listing relates to the cable length or at lest did in my case. I fitted a QH replacement part which was
quoted as QCC 1148 and is 1148mm in length but also another companies code was BC1148 and these are Capris Mk II/III cables

Good information. Thank you. I needed the longest cable I can get to give a smooth run and the one I've ordered from Burton is very similar to
the one already fitted which is fine.

Seem to recall using a Capri clutch cable on my MK Indy (Pinto with Type 9 an MK supplied pedals). I think I needed the length to get a smooth enough
curve betweeb bulkhead and gearbox.

Yes that's the problem I have Nick but there is also the exhaust manifold to contend with which is on the driver's side on the Sigma.

I don't know if it's for a lhd car but this is the one I have and it is fine

Hi John,
I had the same issue in my MK iNdy (Pinto engine, so exhaust on the RH (Drivers) side). I had to secure the clutch cable clear of exhaust manifold
with a rubber lined metal P clip. Worked OK and it didn't suffer. I did cover the tubular exhaust manifold with heat wrap as well, which
probably helped avoid too much heat.

Hi Nick,
You've made a really neat job of insulating the manifold and that's something I shall definitely need to do both for the clutch cable and
the steering column U/J which are both very close to the manifold.
