Rose jointed trailing arms/panhard

Hi all,
Bought some twelve millimeter spherical bearings(rose joints) for my trailing arms/panhard rod from local bearing supplies at weekend.
Eight quid a piece!
Instead of being plastic lined they have phospher bronze liners(stronger).
I have cut my tube to length for my arms and I have just welded a nut on each end of the arms for the rose joints to screw into.
Has anyone else done this ,and will there be any strength issues?
Personally I would have thought that they will be strong enough, yes?

I used female rose joints so welded in a bolt. But I don't see a problem with your way for doing it as long as the weld is good.

Hi conrod,
The spherical bearings are 12mm on the threaded part with a 1.75 pitch thread which is standard, and 12mm on the ball bearing part as well,as a 12mm bolt is a snug fit with no play.
They look and feel very good qaulity and are made by nikkon (japenese I think)
Call SPEN BEARINGS on 01274 851700 (cleckheaton/bradford)
They do different types at different prices.
Ask if they post?
P.S they were 8 quid EACH.
