Escort Rack Oil Capacity
Hopefully this is a quick'n'easy question for you! I am refurbishing my Escort mk 2 steering rack, following a recent article in Which Kit
mag. The only issue I have is with the stated rack oil capacity - the article say use 1.3 litres of EP90, my Haynes manual says use 0.25 litres of
EP90!
Anyone who has done this - which is correct? Does anyone have the Ford owners manual that they could check for me?
Local ford dealer, unsurprisingly, doesn't know...
Cheers, Rob.

I doubt very much that you'll get 1.3 litres of oil into the rack.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Vague recollection of 300ml.
If no-one else confirms it, I'll look in my Haynes manual tonight.

According to Haynes escort mk2 manual.
Steering lubricant capacity (I presume its for the rack) is 0.15 litre or 0.25 imperial pint.
Recommended oil is SAE 90 EP.

150ml sounds familiar - ignore my guess!

They might have mixed the figures up a capacity of some where else on the vehicle
1.3 litres is near the mark of the rear axle oil capacity.
