mt 75 with a pinto
i have made the clasic mistake of geting a dohc engine with the mt 75 box
due to the size of the engine i plan to replace it with the smaller pinto
will the pinto fit onto the mt75 box or should i look for pinto with a 5 speed type9
ps i havent sorted out the prop yet

Hi Dave
I would go the type 9 and pinto route because of more choices of upgrades with the type 9 and its smaller. Suggest trying to sell the dohc and mt75 to
one of the robin hood lads as they fit in both the sub-k and 2b.

mt 75 box is lighter, gearstick remote is easier to mod, reposition and reverse is where it should be, out of the way back from 5th gear, if you know
what i mean!

I am using an MT75 in a book chassis, it fits, and as previously stated will fit a Pinto, is lighter and the remote gearshift is easier to relocated
further back. Iwould suggest you keep the MT75 and if funds allow consider the option of mating it to a Zetec.
All of the above goes out of the window if it's a 4x4 gearbox.
There are pictures on my website which may help you.

I've got a MT75 and have to agree with all the above. Big bonus for me was the way you can relocate the gearlever where you want it. Also mine
came with an output for the electronic speedo, and even after 149000 in a Sierra changes and runs perfect. You are more limited to changes in ratios
but for road/trackday use this should not be a problem...Does'nt seem to bother all those W**tfield boys. Word from the trade is that they are
as tough as old boots, even fitted to Transits and 4x4 Cossies.

How do you deal with the lack of a sliding spiggot with the MT75?
