Type 9 gearbox ratios

Anyone got the sierra haynes? I'm looking to find out which ratios were fitted to which models of sierra (I've only got the granada haynes, which lists two different ratio sets).
Suspect the closer ratio box (1st = 3.36:1) was fitted to larger engined sierra's?

Picked up a mint Sierra Haynes manual at the weekend at a car bootsale for three quid.

On page 167 it says that all models with the five speed type N (Except the P100 Pickup truck) have first gear at 3.65:1.

The P100's first gear is 3.91:1.

I think that Haynes calls what we call the Type Nine the Type N. It mentions the later MT75 separately in the supplement in the back but doesn't give any ratios for it as far as I can see. It's not mentioned in the main gearbox chapter.

Cheers Rich - looks like I'll be searching out either an XR4i box or more likely a granada 2.8/2.9 box (these all came with the higher first gear. Then I've got the issue of input shaft lengths - but that can wait!
Thanks again for your help.

Just like to add that my manual just covered the 4 cylinder models (1.3 to 2.0 litre) and not the V6's or the 4 cylinder cosworth.

Bob here read between the lines but I would like to qualify my original post. The gearing I mentioned doesn't cover the whole Sierra range.

Can anyone tell what kind of ratios are used in Sierra 2.3 Diesel gearbox? Not the same as with petrol engines I think...?
