Mounting Sierra Rear Brakes
Want to finish off my rear uprights tonight- thing is, can't remember where the brakes should go ie. which point of the clock are they?
I know that the MK uprights for discs are setup such that the brake callipers are at about 1-2 o'clock but looking at the trailing arms/hubs from my
4x4 Sierra gives the impression that the callipers were at 12 o'clock.
Whichever I go for does it matter in terms of braking capability or are the callipers in these positions for another reason ie. ease of fitting brake
lines etc.
Any info' gratefully recieved!

It shouldn't make any difference with braking power but you have to remember where the bleed screw is because you may have to remove the brake
caliper from its mount to bleed them.
Ive been toying with the idea of mounting the calipers in the 6 o'clock position to lower the centre of gravity. Whether I will of not is a
different matter. (this is what McLaren do on there formula 1 cars)

the sierra ones do mount inthe 12 o'clock position, not sure about the 6 position suceptable to damage etc, Take a look at my photo's to see how i
have done mine..

The MK ones on my indy are at about 11 o-clock,pretty much as they are on sierra/granada when born.
however,remember the bleed nipple is not the only issue here as the handbrake cable can be a bit painfull as well.
You can just see the rear cali's in this pic

Mounting Sierra rear brakes
This could be usefull: It is almost impossible to get the handbrakecables right trough the chassis, so I switched the brakes ( sadly still drums )
from left to right so the cables exit at the rear. This could be done with the caliper to ( just mind the nipple!
