Grease
What grease do i need for my build, ive read in which kit that the ball joint bolts need copper slip, is the same as copper grease used on brakes?
Also what grease shall i use on poly bushes?
Is there a good general grease that would be good for any little bits that need lubricating.
I saw some castrol HD (?) grease in a tub, in halfords the other day. This anygood?
Thanks

I wasn't personally aware that ball joints needed grease? I thought the spindle turns with the wheel and the movement is in the flexible bit.
PROBABLY WRONG THOUGH.
PU bushes apparently need a grease containing molbdenum disulphide (MD). There are both synthetic ones and others (organic/lithium?). This is all
hearsay cos i only found out very recently, when Rorty or Syd come in they can definitely sum it up well, but they did the other week so maybe
won't bother!
I'll try and find the link! 2 sec...
cant work out the link, but it is a thread in running gear started by scoobyis2cool and entitled 'Indy crash tube', last post 28/08/03 by
Rorty.
If you cant find it from that then you shouldn't have a computer!
Good luck

Think of copper grease as stuff to stop things seizing, NOT to keep things moving, hence the reason that it may of been mentioned for use on ball
joint bolts. I personally keep the stuff away from brake components too, prefering to use a spot of moly grease where anything is potentially sliding
against somthing else. Keep it clear of brake seals though...
In fact, a good moly grease gets a lot of stick in my garage
Dont just build it.....make it!

Im pretty sure the castrol stuff is moly grease, i bought a tub of it anyway today. The copper grease goes on the ball joint thread apparently.
According to which kits indy build anyway.
