Problem 4: Castor angle

When i welded on the brackets, i put the top brackets 18mm behind the bottom ones. Now its all on, it doesnt look like there is much difference. (i know Syd, should've listened but i already had brackets!)

Since the castor angle is the angle made by a line through both bottom and top pivots, to the vertical, turning the top hat in the top of the hub (y know, the sierra adaptor from MK) surely wont affect castor angle because the line between the pivots wont change? It will only make the hub lean back further, but what really matters is the angle of the axis that that the wheels are turned thru when steered, which won't've changed?

Somebody please tell me i'm wrong...?

Sorry Joel,

I think you're right.

Still sounds like you're going to have to do some work on your bottom wishbones so you might be able to incorporate it in there...?

That occured to me last night in a stupor....

Re do the lower bones with 10mm more castor and sort the ball joint angle out at the same time, conviniently this will add some track so the camber angle is more flexible. currently there is very little camber even with the upper pivot screwed all the way in.

Pain in the arse but at least i shouldn't have to start again.

Thanx for the help all.
