Hi spec callipers

If anyone wants to fit 13" wheels on their sierra disc braked rear end, give Hi Spec a call. They do a 2-pot calliper with a combined handbrake which will fit under with the standard disc I recon. They might be a bit expensive (£180!!) for a road car but for a competition car it would be perfect.

They also do a 260mm disc and 4-pot calliper kit for a MK2 escort or cotina designed to go under 13" wheels which is perfect for a locost.

Someone else who went to the Autosport show?

The guy on the HiSpec stand told me the ones in the catalogue were prototypes and they'd be in production soon.

The bolt on Cortina (M16) kits are nice too

I have in the past heard mixed stories of how the m16 replacement/upgrade fits or doesn't without some work. I'd be interested in these rear calipers though. anyone got a link?

cheers,

Ned.

I've also heard stories of Hi tec being a bit difficult to deal due to it taking them ages to fulfil orders but ...... www.kitcarworkshop.co.uk are authorised resellers.

I've personally had no dealings with either company. Some guys on the seven's list either have or are supposed to be upgrading to them.

I actually asked the guy about delivery because I'd heard bad things. He said delivery is usually two weeks. But its a little longer at the moment because they are busy (people getting cars ready to race this season).
