about English...we should think ourselves very lucky that English is the international language, thanks to the Brit Empire. Thats an interesting
subject. Anyone feel the brits should be ashamed or proud of it???

Alfa,
Most of what the UK has done we can be proud of. Bound to be a few (and this is 2004 talk) human rights issues now, but during the days of the empire,
were we any worse than the Romans or the Vikings etc. I doubt it.

Sure, I agree there is plenty to be proud of. It has been popular to denigrate the Empire as greedy and which did terrible things, the truth is that
there were some questionable things done, but all in all it was a pretty benevolent governance. Shame we started the slavery thing to the Americas
tho! At least we tried to stop it before anyone else did.
Anyway, tomorrow I'll post a pic of a carnival girl, let me know your opinions...
